The world becomes a lonely and dull place when you can’t connect with other human beings anymore. When you are in a room full of people and you can’t find a single person that you feel a sense of familiarity with. Not a single person who shares your values, or dreams, or hopes, or interests. Then you step outside that crowd and realise that the world has become this place; somewhere where you no longer recognize anyone. It’s a lonely world indeed.
